Why is power important? Why should Christians display God's power in life and ministry? I have many reasons but let us try this one. The World is watching. They are looking for something that is authentic. Something that will not appear to them to be man's philosophy. When Paul gave testimony to the Corinthians, he stated this.
1 Cor. 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God.
1 Cor. 2:2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
1 Cor. 2:3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.
1 Cor. 2:4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
1Cor. 2:5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
In this portion of Scripture Paul is not advocated against speech or the wisdom of God. Paul defended the power of God over just speech....
For years now I have been pondering a word the Lord gave in May of 2009. In a meeting in Deland, Florida, the Lord spoke to me and said, "I am sending three angels to America." The Lord then showed me three large angels coming up out of the Atlantic Ocean. They were massive in size, hundreds of feet tall. They marched on to the land in a single file. One after the other they stepped on North Carolina moving to the west. With their arms stretched out from their sides, they reached from Maine to the Keys of Florida. As they walked, water dripped off of them and began to saturate the land.
I was in awe of the sight and asked the Lord, "Who are these Lord?" "These are three angels called, Revival, Restoration, Reformation," said the Spirit. I watched for a moment, and the vision was over. Last year I began to speak about preparing for this coming move of God and the coming revival. Getting yourself in position for what the Lord was doing. Now I have something to declare to you.
Are you in a battle? Sometimes, we can go through prolonged periods of trial, not due to anything on our parts. Trials can weaken our faith.
Ex. 6:9 So Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel; but they did not heed Moses, because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage.
When this happens, it is sometimes tough to change the course of our minds and use our faith. Signs of this can be the unwillingness to hear the word of the Lord or a friend that tries to encourage you. The truth is that God is looking to promote and bless you. Our God is one of restoration.
Acts 3:19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
Acts 3:20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before,
Acts 3:21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.
He is one that desires to restore...
Have you feared that you would not be good enough for God? Do you fear failing Him and missing the mark in a way that will disqualify you? This is an important transition that many Christians face. We come out of a performance-based culture. This is predictable in our jobs and careers since we get paid for production. However, the Kingdom is not performance based. It is faith based in the perfection of Christ. What does that mean for us? It should bring us both joy and freedom. Joy in the acceptance of God as His children and freedom to explore faith and not worry about failure.
Romans 8:14 The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:15 And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God....
1. Holiness is the complete glory of God. God's love, purity, righteousness and all things that you can think of, make up God's holiness.
2. Jesus was God in the flesh. He was the Holy One of God. His holiness in human flesh. He was pure, righteous, love, power, compassion, truth, and everything of God.
3. Holiness is something I receive by faith in proximity to God. Let me explain. God does not give me a gift of holiness. He gives me Himself. The Holy One, has come to us and invited us into a union so Divine it is hard to comprehend.
4. God's work in this is complete. He has made a way to abide with me and me to abide with Him.
5. There is a difference between the truth of holiness and the abiding presence. When God's holiness rest on you or me, this is His glory (Holiness made manifest).
6. I must make it my daily pursuit of His presence. It will not happen by...
