The Boardroom of Heaven

May 16, 2018

John 15:14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
John 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

Jesus spends His last night with the disciples speaking on the relationship of a new priesthood. When we look at the chapters 13-17, we see that Jesus is talking to them about the most important things He needs to share before he goes to the cross.

First, we must see that to become a friend of Jesus there is a requirement. You are my friends if you do whatever I command you. Full obedience appears like an impossible task to new believers. It seems hard to most seasoned ones. Jesus never asked us to do anything that He did not do Himself. Nor did He ever expect us to do anything apart from Him and His grace. Earlier in this Chapter, he states this:

John 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

Jesus makes it clear that we can do nothing apart from Him. The point He is trying to make to us is simple. Stay connected to me in a genuine relationship, and you can do all things that I will ask you to do. Paul comes to the same conclusion in his walk with Christ.

Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

In the passage about servants and friends, we see a contrast in a relationship. On the one hand, a servant does what he is asked to do and so does a friend. Jesus told us that in this passage. The difference is a servant knows the why not just the what. As friends, we have access to the boardroom of heaven. Jesus says that a servant knows not what the master is doing. Again, in contrast, He tells us that the He has told the disciples all that He has heard from the Father.

Is it possible that Jesus wants to share with us His plans for the part and heaven? Is this proper for us to access or are we just in a fantasy? I want to declare to you that Jesus wants us to take our seats at the table and listen to the discussion going on. What if I told you that Daniel told us of a time when this would happen? Would you be willing to believe for a moment?

Dan. 7:9 “I watched till thrones were put in place,
And the Ancient of Days was seated;
His garment was white as snow,
And the hair of His head was like pure wool.
His throne was a fiery flame,
Its wheels a burning fire;
Dan. 7:10 A fiery stream issued
And came forth from before Him.
A thousand thousands ministered to Him;
Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him.
The court was seated,
And the books were opened.

The more and more I have accessed heaven the more and more I am aware that the Lord has prepared thrones for us to sit on. John and James were aware of it, and so was their mother. God has made a place for you. It is your turn now, to rise and take your place at the table. It is your turn now to write the history with the God of all creation. As it was with Prince David, if he was not in his seat, no one else could sit in it. Your position in the boardroom (courtroom) is waiting for you. Will you rise in the grace of God and take your place? The Courtroom is the Order of the Priesthood of Melchizedek. I hope you will say yes to one of the most magnificent invitations given to man.

Blessing,

Love Louis
